News and Announcements
The on-field temperature at kick-off was over 100 degrees, but the field wasn’t the only thing that was hot Thursday afternoon as the freshman Chargers played with the hot hand and dominated this football contest at Chargers Stadium in front of their home crowd. The margin of victory was big, and had the game not been stopped after the 3rd quarter due to lightning in the area, it may have been bigger.
Every player on the Charger squad contributed to their success as the team clicked on offense, defense and special teams. It all came together under Head Coach/DC BJ Parsons, OC Scott Tinsley and Coach Tisdale whose hard work and excellent training and knowledge paid off in a great performance.
On offense the running game and passing game were balanced and extremely effective as most drives finished with scores. Credit the offensive line for laying the foundation for the receivers and runnings backs and giving our QB’s time to throw. And the defense swarmed the football and hit hard. The physical nature of the Chargers play on that side of the football clearly set the tone and some of the Hawks got a bit chippy because of it.
With a 1 and 1 record we look forward to next Thursday when the Chargers will play host to Corona Del Mar at 3:15. Let’s get El Toro nation out in force for this freshman game again.

Clash Of Styles: Tillers Take To The Ground Against The Chargers In Opener
The young Chargers came out firing on offense and drove down the field and scored a touchdown by mixing up the run and the pass. The conversion was good to take an early 8-0 lead. Tustin then put together a nice drive of their own to counter the Chargers score by running the football inside and outside of the Tackles just efficiently enough to eat the clock the move the chains. Tustin punched it in, and then converted the 2 point try and the game was tied at 8. Later in the second quarter the Chargers regained a 16-8 lead with another nice drive, finished by a big catch and run down the right sideline for their 2nd TD. That was capped off with a 2 point conversion making it a 16-8 Chargers lead. But from that point on the Tillers run game seemed to sap the clock, move the chains, and finish drives. That formula eventually saw the Tillers move out to a comfortable lead. But the Chargers showed no quit and on their final possession of the game got in the end zone to finish on a positive note. Final score was 43-24.
Next week the Chargers look to improve, and rebound with a big game against El Dorado at home on Thursday at 3:15. Make your plans now to come out and see the ET Freshman be victorious! Go Chargers!!
