News and Announcements
(THIS EVENT IS FOR ALL PLAYER LEVELS)
Hello Charger Football families!
We are gearing up for a great 2018 season!
Our first team event for the boys is a fun one.
Based off traditional football combine drill clinics, Coach Diaz and staff are going to be running the boys through their own ET Football combine Saturday, July 7th.
This is a competitive, fun way for our boys to show off their skills in speed, agility and coordination while the coaches take notes on where our team strength and weaknesses are.
Following the combine, we will be serving lunch to the players and selling lunch to spectators for $5. We will be serving sandwiches, chips, side dish, drink and cookie (or something sweet!).
After lunch, Coach approved a massive water balloon fight! We’ll usher the boys to the parking lot as they wrap up eating to start launching balloons at each other (and the coaches).
Additionally, this event is our first snack bar donation drop off date. So we need a couple extra hands to keep things running smooth.
8:30-9:00 – Boys warm up
9:00-11:00 – Combine drills
11:00-12:00 – Lunch
12:00-1:00 – Balloon madness & clean up

The on-field temperature at kick-off was over 100 degrees, but the field wasn’t the only thing that was hot Thursday afternoon as the freshman Chargers played with the hot hand and dominated this football contest at Chargers Stadium in front of their home crowd. The margin of victory was big, and had the game not been stopped after the 3rd quarter due to lightning in the area, it may have been bigger.
Every player on the Charger squad contributed to their success as the team clicked on offense, defense and special teams. It all came together under Head Coach/DC BJ Parsons, OC Scott Tinsley and Coach Tisdale whose hard work and excellent training and knowledge paid off in a great performance.
On offense the running game and passing game were balanced and extremely effective as most drives finished with scores. Credit the offensive line for laying the foundation for the receivers and runnings backs and giving our QB’s time to throw. And the defense swarmed the football and hit hard. The physical nature of the Chargers play on that side of the football clearly set the tone and some of the Hawks got a bit chippy because of it.
With a 1 and 1 record we look forward to next Thursday when the Chargers will play host to Corona Del Mar at 3:15. Let’s get El Toro nation out in force for this freshman game again.
