The Chargers trailed in the 4th quarter 28-26. But they got the drive they needed to reclaim a lead they had held for much of the game when Noah Aguilar caught 4th down TD pass in the back right corner of the endzone. The 2 point conversion was completed to Austin Derrico to give El Toro a 34-28 lead with about 4 minutes to play. The defense held firm on the Mustangs last possession to seal the victory. The JV squad now has a 3 game win streak at the half way point of the season. Next week the Chargers take on the Capo Valley Cougars as they look to extend their win streak to 4 games.
The JV Chargers scored 6 TD’s, and the defense shut out the Lancers as El Toro rolled to a 40-0 victory. With the win the Chargers, who started 0-2 with two close losses to begin the season, evened their record at 2-2. Next week the JV Chargers will be at home against the Capistrano Valley Cougars. That September 24th kick-off will be at 3:00pm.
The JV Chargers got their first win of the season over the JV CDM SeaKings 27-22. The led at the half 7-6. The Chargers opened up a 27-6 lead in the second half, but had to hold off a Sea Kings comeback attempt. The Charger defense turned them back on a final drive as time ran out to secure the victory. The JV Squad looks to even their record next week against Norwalk at home on the Sept. 17th.
The JV Chargers trailing 17-14 drove inside the 10 and were stopped on the 1 inch line as time ran out. In both JV games this year the Chargers were inside the 10 with less than 2 minutes with a chance to win. Expect the Chargers to put together a win streak beginning this Friday at CDM.

The La Habra Highlander JV Squad must have felt fortunate when they were able to turn away 2 late El Toro Charger drives to hang on to a 21-20 win over the Chargers. Austin Derrico had a pick 6 and a 35 TD reception for the Chargers. Marcus Blevins scored the other TD on a 2 yard carry. Noah Aguilar had a phenomenal game playing all phases including special teams. He finished with 8 catches and many big tackles on defense and special teams. Ben Chretin, ET’s Center, anchored the offensive line that did a good job against the big La Habra defensive front. Next week the JV Squad will travel to Chula Vista to take on the Eastlake Titans and look to even their record at 1-1.
