The JV Chargers keep rolling along as they beat a very big Tesoro JV squad in convincing fashion 36-13. The Chargers held a 10-7 lead at the half after leaving points on the table in the red zone more than once. But in the second half the offense finished those drives. The O-Line propelled a solid running attack that had some good gains and key first down rushes to sustain drives. They also provided good pass protection as the Chargers threw the ball around the field a tallied 4 TD’s through the air in typical Charger fashion. The ET defense allowed only 1 score in the second half and limited the Tesoro offense by pressuring their Quarterback. The victory placed the Chargers on top of the South Coast League standings heading into next week’s contest against San Juan Hills at San Juan Hills High School. Kick off will be on Thursday, October 15th at 3:00pm
The JV Chargers accumulated over 600 yards of offense and 55 points on the way to a 55-34 win over the Cougars at El Toro Stadium. El Toro has now won 4 in a row as they head into league play next week against Tesoro with their eye on a South Coast League title.
The Chargers trailed in the 4th quarter 28-26. But they got the drive they needed to reclaim a lead they had held for much of the game when Noah Aguilar caught 4th down TD pass in the back right corner of the endzone. The 2 point conversion was completed to Austin Derrico to give El Toro a 34-28 lead with about 4 minutes to play. The defense held firm on the Mustangs last possession to seal the victory. The JV squad now has a 3 game win streak at the half way point of the season. Next week the Chargers take on the Capo Valley Cougars as they look to extend their win streak to 4 games.
The JV Chargers scored 6 TD’s, and the defense shut out the Lancers as El Toro rolled to a 40-0 victory.
