El Toro Football is proud to announce that the San Diego State Aztecs will be the next destination for El Toro standout Defensive End, Trevor Dodds. Trevor compiled 124 tackles, 82 of which were solo, and 9 sacks in his varsity career. As a testament to his toughness on the field, Trevor played with an immobilizing cast on his right forearm and hand to insulate a broken bone for much of the 2015 season. But he did not allow that to slow him down. Through the injury he continued to make plays and be a vital component of the very talented Charger defense. San Diego State knows what it is getting: A highly dedicated and skilled football player, who will bring great character, hard work, and will excel in the classroom.

The entire Charger Nation is proud of Trevor and will be following him as he continues his career down south.

“I must continue to get out of His way so that it’s not my voice that’s heard, but His.”

On July 16, 2016, Steve Stenstrom will be inducted into the El Toro Football Hall of Fame at the annual El Toro Football Golf Tournament at San Juan Hills Golf Club. He joins the prestigious line-up of former El Toro graduates and Hall of Famers Murle Sango 2013, Mike McLain 2014, and Jeremy Hogue 2015.

Steve was no ordinary student at El Toro High School where he played quarterback for the Chargers in 1988 and 1989. Stenstrom passed for 4,604 yards during his two-year career with the Chargers. In the 1989 season he completed 178 of 270 for 2,830 yards and 25 touchdowns in leading El Toro to the Southern Section Division III championship game.

Steve earned a scholarship to Stanford University where he was starting quarterback from 1991-1994 and broke 11 Stanford school and 7 Pacific-10 Conference records. He threw for 10,531 career passing yards, placing number one in Stanford and Pac-10 record books in 1995 and number seven on the NCAA’s all-time passing list. He also set school and conference records for career total offense (9825 yards) and an amazing 2nd to John Elway with 72 career touchdown passes in college. He earned his degree in Public Policy in 1994 and was selected by the Kansas City Chiefs in the 4th round of 1995 NFL Draft. He played 6 NFL seasons from 1995 until his retirement in 2001.

Steve met his wife, Lori, an All-American and NCAA champion swimmer at Stanford. They now live in Colorado with their 4 children who are all gifted both academically and athletically like their parents. Brooke is headed to Stanford in the Fall on a swimming scholarship, Blake is a very talented quarterback who is already being recruited by multiple colleges and will be a junior at Valor Christian High School, Lindsay is a rising star in the swimming pool herself and is entering her sophomore year at Valor, and Ashley finds herself as a rising eight grader right on track to follow her two older sisters as a superb swimmer in the years to come.

Steve has served for the past 6 years as the President of Pro Athletes Outreach, a ministry to pro athletes whose mission is to unite a community of pros and couples to grow as disciples of Jesus and positively impact their spheres of influence. Four years ago, the organization launched TheIncrease.com to create a forum where pro athletes can connect and engage with their fans in the context of faith. “I love The Increase and everything related to it because it’s becoming the place where the voice of athletes who don’t desire the fame and the notoriety can be heard the way they want to be heard. So many pros today understand they’ve been blessed and gifted to do what they do and they want the credit to be given to the one who has given them their gifts so that others would be inspired to do the same.”

Steve personifies the Charger tradition of athletic skill, academic achievement, and strength of character. These traits makes him a most worthy inductee into the El Toro Football Hall of Fame. The entire El Toro Charger Football Nation of past alumni, current families, community supporters, and fans alike congratulate Steve Stenstrom on his induction into the El Toro Football Hall of Fame.

Many of the El Toro Football families and players met on Wednesday night for good food at a fundraising dinner at Buffalo Wild Wings. With Spring football in its first week of action it was good timing for a meal together. Hungry players loaded up their plates with wings, but the show belonged to offensive lineman Dominick Vasquez and defensive lineman Rami Abdi as they took on the Blazin’ Challenge. What is the Blazin’ Challenge? It was a contest to see which of these two gentlemen could eat 10 of the hottest wings on the planet first. These wings are made with famous ghost pepper extract which has stopped many accomplished eaters before, but not these two. Energy levels in the restaurant were high as teammates gathered around their table and cheered them on. Drenched in sweat and with noses running and faces tingling they powered through the pain and finished the challenge with a smile.

Best of all, a portion of the proceeds go to fund El Toro Football for the upcoming 2016 season.

Banner and Program Ads - Fundraiser

El Toro Football Families -

One of the easiest ways to fundraise toward your personal player contribution amount is through the sale of Banner and/or Program advertisements. Any local business that you personally use is a great candidate to join the ET family! These businesses appreciate your patronage and in return may want to give back. Our advertising partners benefit from greatly increased local visibility and gain related sales from the community. Their advertising donation is also tax deductible.

  • Banner Ads: Banner ads are visible 7 days a week and are mounted on the fencing separating the field and the walkway on the scoreboard side of the stadium. The thousands of fans that attend Friday night home games walk right past those banners on the way to their seats, the snack bar and/or restrooms. For new advertisers banner graphics are submitted to us digitally and then we have the banner produced and hung up.
  • Program Ads: Program ads can be purchased in different sizes from business card size all the way up to 1/2 and full page ads. These game day programs are handsomely crafted and are considered keepsakes by most who purchase them, meaning they go home with the football fan and are looked at multiple times.
