Program Vision:
As the Head Football Coach at El Toro High School I pledge to bring leadership, tireless dedication, and preparation to this storied football program. High expectations have been established, along with a solid action plan, which institutes character building, morals, and team core values.
I, along with my coaching staff, have established a competitive attitude within this program which encourages players on a daily basis to push each other beyond normal expectations. Through attitude and positive power of mind, this program will achieve success. My coaches, players, and I will take responsibility and ownership of our daily actions, which will enable us to reach greatness in the classroom, weight room, field, and community.
The El Toro Football Program will demonstrate its desire for winning through self-sacrifice and determination. My staff and I will teach these young men to believe in themselves, so that when they go out into the real world they take this “winning attitude” with them in everything they do. The player who develops pride and confidence will have a winning edge on the playing field as well as life.
Coaching Philosophy:
Young adults constantly surround a coach. He is a vital link in their development into adulthood. A coach must lead by example and be consistent with his actions that support his morals, values, and attitude. The leadership role today’s coach occupies should not be abused or forgotten. I believe that as Head Football Coach I must demonstrate a cooperative spirit of interaction. These efforts will model my teaching of the importance of team play.
All coaches must be excellent teachers of the game. A Head Coach must indoctrinate his assistant coaches into a system of learning. It has been proven that each student/athlete learns differently. A good coach understands learning styles and uses a variety of teaching methods to increase understanding for all student athletes.
In this program players will be given heavy doses of positive reinforcement. In addition to the physical improvements that are a part of the process of playing football, participants will learn the value of responsibility, teamwork, goal setting, and perseverance. These qualities will in turn enable successful academic endeavors, as well as aide in the social aspects of high school life. These same qualities will assist the student/athlete well beyond high school in their professional life.
Thank you,
